Who we are:

We are a growing group of dedicated piano teachers based in Harford County, Maryland. 

Our mission is to promote excellence in piano instruction and to elevate the level of music performance in Harford County.

What we do:

HCPTA provides multiple opportunities for piano students throughout the school year, including three recitals, master classes, and our Piano Festival, an annual tradition since 1982. 

The festival is an adjudicated event consisting of both competitive and non-competitive divisions.

We also provide scholarship opportunities for those high school seniors accepted into a program of study for a degree in music. 

For piano teachers, HCPTA is a space for discussion groups, workshops and other various musical activities.

Join us:

Your application and low annual dues unlock access to at least three student recitals per year, workshops and discussion groups.

Participation in student recitals is free for your students; the venue and programs are paid for by your dues.

Memberships submitted by October 31 are eligible for student participation in that  academic year’s annual Piano Festival
